3 Und der Streit4421 ward3513 hart wider Saul7586; und die Bogenschützen7198 kamen an ihn, daß er3384 von den Schützen3384 verwundet ward4672.

4 Then said559 Saul7586 to413 his armorbearer,5375 3627 Draw8025 thy sword,2719 and thrust me through1856 therewith; lest6435 these428 uncircumcised6189 come935 and abuse5953 me. But his armorbearer5375 3627 would14 not;3808 for3588 he was sore afraid.3372 3966 So Saul7586 took3947 853 a sword,2719 and fell5307 upon5921 it.

4 Da sprach559 Saul7586 zu seinem Waffenträger3627: Zeuch dein Schwert8025 aus und erstich1856 mich damit, daß diese Unbeschnittenen6189 nicht5375 kommen935 und schändlich mit mir umgehen. Aber5953 sein Waffenträger3627 wollte14 nicht5375; denn er fürchtete3372 sich5307 sehr3966. Da nahm3947 Saul7586 sein Schwert2719 und fiel drein.

5 And when his armorbearer5375 3627 saw7200 that3588 Saul7586 was dead,4191 he1931 fell5307 likewise1571 on5921 the sword,2719 and died.4191

7 And when all3605 the men376 of Israel3478 that834 were in the valley6010 saw7200 that3588 they fled,5127 and that3588 Saul7586 and his sons1121 were dead,4191 then they forsook5800 their cities,5892 and fled:5127 and the Philistines6430 came935 and dwelt3427 in them.

8 And it came to pass1961 on4480 the morrow,4283 when the Philistines6430 came935 to strip6584 853 the slain,2491 that they found4672 853 Saul7586 and his sons1121 fallen5307 in mount2022 Gilboa.1533

8 Des andern4283 Morgens kamen935 die Philister6430, die Erschlagenen2491 auszuziehen6584, und fanden4672 Saul7586 und seine Söhne1121 liegen5307 auf dem Berge2022 Gilboa1533;

9 And when they had stripped6584 him, they took5375 853 his head,7218 and his armor,3627 and sent7971 into the land776 of the Philistines6430 round about,5439 to carry tidings1319 853 unto their idols,6091 and to the people.5971

11 Da aber alle die zu8085 Jabes in Gilead1568 höreten alles, was die Philister6430 Saul7586 getan6213 hatten,

12 They arose,6965 all3605 the valiant2428 men,376 and took away5375 853 the body1480 of Saul,7586 and the bodies1480 of his sons,1121 and brought935 them to Jabesh,3003 and buried6912 853 their bones6106 under8478 the oak424 in Jabesh,3003 and fasted6684 seven7651 days.3117

12 machten sie sich auf6965, alle streitbaren2428 Männer, und376 nahmen5375 den Leichnam Sauls7586 und seiner Söhne1121 und brachten935 sie gen Jabes3003 und begruben6912 ihre Gebeine6106 unter der Eiche424 zu Jabes3003; und fasteten6684 sieben7651 Tage3117.

13 So Saul7586 died4191 for his transgression4604 which834 he committed4603 against the LORD,3068 even against5921 the word1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 he kept8104 not,3808 and also1571 for asking7592 counsel of one that had a familiar spirit,178 to inquire1875 of it;
